Welcome, parents and students, to another great year at Youth Elementary School! My name is Lisa Welborn. I have been teaching at YES for 13 years! I spent one year in 1st grade, one year in 2nd grade, and seven years in 3rd grade. This is my fourth year in 4th grade.
I have a bachelor's degree from University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), a master's degree from Piedmont College, and a Specialist in teacher leadership from Nova Southeastern University. My children are Evan and Bryson. Evan is a seventh grader at YMS and Bryson is a fifth grader at YES. My boys are involved in football and basketball, so we stay busy outside of school. We are avid sports fans, especially Georgia Bulldogs' football!
We have a dog named Murray, and students will hear a lot about him this year. He is a very spoiled Maltese-Poodle mix. We treat him like a member of the family.
A friend recently got me interested in running. I enjoy running 5ks and hope to complete a half-marathon in the near future. Running has become a very passionate part of my life.
I'm very excited about having your child in my class this year. We have a lot to cover and a short time to do it so the year will go fast. Thank you for sharing your child with me. I hope you find this website useful!
